Baker Engineering has commenced on the construction of a state-of-the-art Liftboat, the BEL320-4R200S Liftboat in our shipyards in Singapore.
The BEL320-4R200S is a DP2 self-propelling and self-elevating Liftboat with 320ft/97.5m of legs developed by BEL Design Pte. Ltd. a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Baker Engineering Pte. Ltd. The Liftboat is capable of elevated operations in water depths of up to 67m in the offshore oil & gas fields and offshore wind farms where installation, repair, construction, maintenance and workover activities require a safe and stable platform.
The 64m x 40m x 6.2m hull of the BEL320-4R200S Liftboat is elevated and lowered by means of a radial rack and pinion, electrically powered jacking system. This jacking system is capable of rapidly raising the hull clear of the water on its own four (4) cylindrical legs so as to provide a stable platform from which offshore installation, construction and maintenance work may be conducted.
Crew accommodation for 200 persons in single, double and four man cabins is located in the Living Quarters structure on the forward part of main deck.
The useable open deck space of 1000 square meters is capable of carrying equipment and supplies in support of various offshore installation, maintenance and construction activities.
The helicopter deck, located just off starboard from the centerline of the Liftboat, is designed for service by a Sikorsky S-61N or S-92 helicopter.
The BEL320-4R200S Liftboat is equipped with one (1) Deck Crane rated at a maximum load of 300MT, electro-hydraulically driven and located near the aft port leg of the Liftboat. There is also a King Post Deck Crane located on the stbd aft mid-ship of the Liftboat, rated at a maximum load of 38.8MT, diesel-hydraulically driven.
Propulsion is provided by three (3) 1000KW azimuth thrusters installed at the aft of the Liftboat and for dynamic positioning DPS-2 maneuvering, two (2) 500KW bow tunnel thrusters are installed of which one (1) is retractable.
The BEL320-4R200S Liftboat is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping to the notation of + A1, Self-Elevating Unit, AMS, ACCU, DPS-2, for Unrestricted Service, and is designed to MODU rules and regulations to operate in areas such as the Middle East, South East Asia, West Africa, Europe and other areas with similar environmental criteria.
Delivery of the Liftboat is scheduled for 3rd quarter of 2017.
